Ministry Leader Development

The Hawaii Conference of Seventh-day Adventist is looking for young men and women who are feeling a calling to full time pastoral ministry. This is a one year mentorship opportunity where you will receive hands on opportunities and intentional training from the local pastor, conference youth director and ministry professionals. During this internship you will spend time preaching, giving bible studies, weeks of prayer, public evangelism, outreach, and building community with the youth in the Hawaii Conference. This is an opportunity for you to grow professionally while strengthening our youth spiritually.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years old

  • Active in Local Church or Youth Ministry

  • Available for the entire program

  • Have a valid drivers license

  • Be seeking a degree in religion or theology

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have a daily growing relationship with Jesus Christ

  • Be able to communicate Christ as a personal Savior and loving friend

  • Have a positive attitude with an ability to fulfill responsibilities

  • Work as a team player

  • Be youth focused, and have a desire to see them accept Jesus as their Savior 

  • Be in good health and vitality 

  • Be able to take and implement directions and advice

  • Be FLEXIBLE!

Patrick King

Kailua Seventh-day Adventist Church

Patrick King is the intern at Kailua SDA church on the Windward side of Oahu. He has taken this year away from pursuing his degree in Theology at Southern Adventist University to get experience working and preaching in a church.

Patsy Lopez

Korean-English Seventh-day Adventist Church

Patsy Lopez is an intern at the Korean-English SDA Church in Honolulu on the island of Oahu. She has come all the way from Phoenix Arizona to preach and serve in ministry. 

Jayden Anggormas

Aiea Seventh-day Adventist Church

Welcoming him from the Rocky Mountain state of Colorado is Jayden Anggormas. Jayden is studying to be a pastor at Southern Adventist University in Tennessee. This year, we are blessed to have Jayden serving at the Aiea SDA Church on Oahu.

Lana Merginio

Waipahu Seventh-day Adventist Church

Lana Merginio is a Religious Education major from Southern Adventist University. She flew all the way from her home in Arizona. Lana is serving in the Waipahu SDA church. She has a passion for working with young people and is often found helping out at our highschool at Hawaiian Mission Academy as well.

Joseph Okello

Hawaii Conference Treasury Dept.

Joseph Okello is an intern working in the treasury department at the Hawaii SDA Conference offices. He has come a long way from his home in Kansas City to serve the people of our islands. 

Caleb Schaber

Hawaii Conference Communications Dept.

Caleb Schaber is the current communication intern for the Hawaii SDA Conference. He has come all the way from Lincoln, Nebraska to do ministry in Hawaii.

Jolina Console

Wahiawa Seventh-day Adventist Church

Jolina Console, one of our nine interns, is pursuing her pastoral studies at Union College in Nebraska. Currently, she's dedicatedly serving at the Wahiawa SDA Church on Oahu.

Clinton Tampake

Kauai Seventh-day Adventist Church

Clinton Tampake is one of the two Intern Ministry Leaders on the island of Kaua’i. Feeling the call to service, Clint left his job in Seattle Washington to come to Hawaii and serve.

Wilson Pio

Kauai Seventh-day Adventist Church

Wilson Pio is an Intern Ministry leader on the island of Kauai currently training to become a pastor. After years of following other career paths, Wilson felt God pulling him to ministry and accepted the call to come to Hawaii
